I have tried different processors, Ram, HD's, Cables, Outlets, etc. I ended
taking it in to a service center (it's still under warranty or I would fix
it myself) and they were unable to duplicate the problem...of course. So I
then tested every outlet in my house. The voltages were almost all 119.7AC
(+/- .2vAC). That is well within the correct range. I tested the outlets,
because the machine seems to fail while powering on and it makes a horrid
squealing sound out of the PS. I first thought that the draw from my Apple
17' Flat panel was causing it to overload the PS, but at the service center
they let me test it myself using one of their 17' Flat panels, and I
couldn't get it do make the same noise. The voltage out of their AC outlets
at the shop was 121.2. I hardly think 2 volts AC could cause this kind of
activity.

So I bought a new G4 Dual 1GHz. and brought it home. Plugged it into the
same setup and it works great. No problems at all. I still feel that it is
the Power Supply on the 867, but since I can't duplicate the problem I am
sol. I am really confused by this one. I can usually have the answer in a
few minutes. I have been going round and round with this one for a week +.
