Yep, mine does it too, and I've heard of others as well. Some have solved
it by zapping pram numerous times. I haven't. Others report that turning of
the start up memory testing helps. Mine doesn't care.

So I just live with it. Tested the start up time against my 8500/120 one
day, by pushing the start buttons simultaneuosly. And though the G seems to
hang and take forever, it turned out it was a good deal faster than the
8500 in the end. They're both running 9.1.
