it's also highly useful for batch processing allot of files, like
deleting a group based on suffix, changing the suffix, or adding a
suffix or something else to the name of each file in a "group", where
"group" can generally be specified a number of ways.  it lets you do
allot of things i do in os 9 with file buddy.  there are other neat
things you can do from the command line that just can't be specified
graphically, at least not on most systems, like "piping", "filtering"
etc.  graphical is easier for typical things, command line is highly
useful for more creative or problematic things that are simply very hard
to specify graphically.
