I'm cold turkey on bandwidth and onlime time so quickly: why hobble an OS to not run on specific machines? other than a financial incentive, there's also an attempt to dissuade users from using third party devices and/or SW (plainly Linux is the target); see Apple OS X compatible list of 3rd party devices (yes, all the drivers are pre-loaded) - the ones that are discontinued - why no uninstaller ? Invidia is the only 64 MB video card being used in G4 machines currently - yet that firm has released it's peecee version code to the Open Source crowd (that's a big market share). Apple insists on controlling the proprietary angle - but what happened to cross-platform usability? When you dump on OS9, where is the replacement SW for key apps like MacLink? Even an ancient laserjet IIP has Win XP drivers - but not OSX. Cheers
