Got me, I have a beige G3 asd well and have a WD 7200rpm 40 gig drive and it boots just fine. I can't say much other then try again. Also one quick question, what rom do you have the c rom? I know I am only using one drive per cable in my g3 all of them set to masters. Also are you first formatting the drive under os 9.2.1 or just under OS X? Also which OS X do you have?
