I've had a similar boot problem on my G3 beige mt (with a sonnet
G4-450mhz upgrade). I can't zap the PRAM while in Jaquar, when I do, it
restarts in OS 9. There is nothing that I've found to get back to OS X
except restart on the Jaquar CD and do an "upgrade", basically
installing a "fresh" system under OS 9.
This "upgrade" doesn't affect internet connection or other software,
only a new (hopefully) clean OS.
If I zap the pram again, it's back to OS 9. Startup Disk shows the OS X
partition, but refuses to boot on it. I have the original 6gig hd
partitioned in two, the first for OS X, the second for 9. There are no
other internal hds, and only firewire hds attached.
Has anyone else had a problem like this?
Or a solution?
Is zapping the pram now a no-no?
Thanks,
Bob
