Users/your_username/Library/Preferences/com.apple.finder.plist

Is the finder pref file for your user acct.  I found a number of 
discussions and TID's from apple on this and I'd post the links here 
but I have the impression from the list charter that that is not OK. 
I can send them to you privately.
