Walmart is about the first place willing to sell Intel based PCs
without including an OS from Microsoft, I am thinking it is something
to be encouraged.

Lindows is a repackaging of Corel Linux, which was based on Denebian
Linux, and was considered a pretty good distribution. Microsoft took
them to court over the name Lindows and reading the judges ruling makes
for some interesting reading.

I think the selling point behind Lindows is that it comes with "Wine"
configured so that it can run Windows software. Which is probably a
feat in an of itself, since as I understand much of Windows software
does not even run well under Windows.
