Walmart is about the first place willing to sell Intel based PCs without including an OS from Microsoft, I am thinking it is something to be encouraged. Lindows is a repackaging of Corel Linux, which was based on Denebian Linux, and was considered a pretty good distribution. Microsoft took them to court over the name Lindows and reading the judges ruling makes for some interesting reading. I think the selling point behind Lindows is that it comes with "Wine" configured so that it can run Windows software.
