A similar distro to Lindows, Lycoris, is available for .ISO download.
http://www.lycoris.com/ . There's a link for the .ISOs on their site. Also
the price they are charging for their distro is refreshingly inexpensive, so
if you want to support what the Lycoris folks are doing you can do so at
relatively low cost.

These guys play by the 'rules" of Open Source, too, unlike Lindows and to a
lesser extent Xandros.

You can also get Lycoris pre-loaded on computers from WalMart, including the
ultra-cheap VIA CIII based one. However, I would go with the AMD or Intel
based machines...they are halfway decent, using parts like MSI motherboards
and Maxtor hard drives.

The beauty of Lycoris is that someone with a Windows background can get onto
a Lycoris-loaded system and feel very much at home. Everything is engineered
to be as Windows-like as possible. Also Lycoris has one of the nicest and
most helpful communities in the entire Gnu world. http://www.lycoriis.org/ is
where you go to get any amount of advice and help you want.

Have fun,
