Well Vic is right except that not everyone with a B&W G3 Rev.1 suffers from this problem. A few years ago I replaced the stock 6 gig in my B&W G3 350 Rev.1 for a Diamond Maxtor Plus 30 GB, and it worked perfectly as the master. Lately when this HD died I got a 40GB replacement from Maxtor (it's actually a Quantum UATA133) and it still works fine (even used the stock 6 GB as a slave (when it mounted that is)) Never had any data corruption, and have four partitions made by Apple Drive Setup, I have OS 9.2.2 on one partition, OS X 10.1.5 on another (soon to be 10.2.2) etc etc. So why does it work on one B&W G3 Rev.1 and doesn't on another is real question to me? > Paul, you do not need to buy a PCI IDE controller unless, If you want speed, yes buy one. * * -- G-List is sponsored by <http://lowendmac.com/> and...
