Here's another observation on X. I've never had a problem transfering DV from my camera to the computer in 9. I leave everything running and get perfect results. In X I get dropped frames.
The machine is a Beige tower with a G4 466 zif and a firewire/usb combo card. I'm running 10.2.2 and 9.2. It must be that there is some kind of overhead in X that doesn't happen in 9 (no kidding!) The question is, is there a way to turn off stuff to get perfect transfers in X? I'd know what to do in 9 were it necessary, since I've had to turn off almost everything to export DV to the camera, (still with less than perfect results.) Turn off the computers and have a fine Thanksgiving! Rich -- G-List is sponsored by <http://lowendmac.com/> and...
