I got my G4 just over 2 years ago, and had the mail order seller put an Adaptec SCSI card (#2906, I think). It actually worked fine for over a year, then I started get all sorts of really bad scarey things happening. For a while, I was convinced I was having power supply problems, etc. etc. Finally, turns out the card was at fault--and I've heard other folks with similar problems. I'm not sure why it worked with no problems for so long before causing so much grief.
