I added the Rev B rom dimm in my Beige G3 DT. I
recently purchased a lite-on 48x24x48 CD burner and I
also acquired a lite-48x CD rom and configured them
Master/slave. They both work great and boot on C and
act just like Apple drives.

I had to leave the case off as they do not both fit.
But I wondered whether I could just cut a nice
rectanglular hole in the top of the case and run the
IDE cable through and just leave the CD rom directly
on top; as this is the way I had by 6x4x16 scsi CD
burner. I wondered what would be best thing to use to
cut it nicely.

I don't know if I would need a case for the CD rom and
just leave it on the sled. I don't even know if they
make IDE cases. I have such added expandability with
Rev B rom dimm but am hammpered by this case design. I
don't think the DT version can easily be placed in a
PC case. I've heard the Beige Tower is easier to place
in a PC case.
