This is the problem i am running 9.2.2 and it is stable and runs fine but the usb card will not see anything. i have re-installed the OS the usb drivers everything and it still will not work even changed it around in the various slots no joy.
I've seen this numerous times by now (had to do it myself with my Older Keyspan card), probably your solution is to remove all usb extensions and then install the older ones from the USB support 1.4 package. Probably still available somewhere at Apple's website.
