Marc, I hadn't really considered the ATTO card as a source of the problem, but I'll check into it. Since my original message, I've managed to get everything working in Jaguar by swapping slots, trying to get the Radeon to initialize earlier than the usb, and then installing the Logitech software for the mouse. I've still got serious problems in 9.2.2, but Brian Christmas mentioned in a message a few minutes ago that removing one of the original ati extensions installed by the os solved the freezing issues for him. So, I guess I'll try that next.
