BUT the fact is that the G3 came out SIX years ago. Can you imagine trying to run XP on a six-year-old, cutting-edge 233 Pentium II?
<raises hand> Just did it on four machines...So long as you stuff 'em with memory, they run, albeit fairly slowly.
That said, our office OSX test box is a G3 266 and my own office system is only a PII 450...us sysadmins are the cobbler's children around here. The secretaries are getting new iMacs and Pentium 4 systems.
But you're right...at some point things are past fixing up to keep using and into the fixing up because you like futzing with them.
