I just seem to be accruing Macs. I finally gave the 512K Enhanced to a fellow who's son is a missionary in Africa (I haven't heard how that worked out). I've seen one being used as a doorstop at a local comic book store.

I'm reluctant (and also really don't know how) to get rid of the Performa LC040. It has an AV card and the kids have the Playstation hooked up to it.

But my beige G3 MT Rev B 300mHz is six years old and it has been very solid and runs 10.2.6 just fine (I do some Photoshop and Dreamweaver in classic and have no problems but I guess I don't demand too much of it). I was thinking about a ZIF upgrade and a new graphics card but I've decided that the next big outlay of computer cash will go to a new one. This one (the G3) however will probably find some lingering use, probably in connection with the kids' iMac.

I have wondered however if Apple has a recycling plan like Dell does. I haven't poked around on their site. Does anyone know -- for when it is time for the Performa to meet its maker?

Anastasia
