Hello Let me give you the bad news.

I had the same problem with my initial X installation.
I first had to remove my PCI SCSI card and second PCI Video card .
That is, I had revert back to the configuration of the B&W G3 that Apple shipped( aka Stock)!


After X was installed, I was able to put back the SCSI and second Video Card without any problems and continue on.

As I see it, you have to put back an IDE drive , connected to the motherboard and install X on that drive.
