I have a G3 (9.2.2) and an 8500 (9.1) that I would like to share the

I have them connected to a Netgear RP114 and they see each other.
When I hook up the cable modem (Toshiba PCX 1100), they fail to make a
connection to the net.
I know this setup works because I was sharing a cable connection (with
the same ISP) at the house I moved from.
I can only think that a setting is wrong but I haven't changed anything
since the computers were networked previously.

Any suggestions appreciated.

Assumin you've got the NAT router set up correctly...

At this point:
1. Your account is authorized for only one computer.
2. Your modem has been told (1) during its initialization cycle.
3. Your modem has already been connected to one of your Macs, so it has taken note of that computer's MAC address!

Now you're trying to plug the modem into the router, and the modem is ignoring the router! Just like it's supposed to...

So... Power-cycle the modem to make it forget what MAC it has seen. Do this by physically unplugging the modem's power cord and leaving it off for at least 30 seconds. Then plug the modem in and wait for it to synchronize (cable light solid green). Then reboot your router. Then verify that the router has obtained a proper IP lease from Comcast.
