PowerLogix is also selling an upgrade for slot-loading iMacs:

It's a 900 MHz G3 and they have a similar program where you mail in your
logic board and they upgrade it and mail it back.  I haven't seen any
reviews on it yet, though.

Indeed they do Jeff but...


My experience with PowerLogix has been less than excellent. It seems that there QC could use some work.
If you get a part from them that works correctly out of the box you generally don't have trouble with it down the line.
If, on the other hand, you get a problem part you will likely get nothing but double talk from there Tech Support and if you manage to convince them that the part is actually defective and get an RMA # out of them you may wait weeks or months for a replacement!
There is plenty of aneccdotele evidence of this trouble on the WWW.


FWIW I would rather have the G4 anyway for the performance boost that it will give me in OS X.
