A: The wings card uses a piece of software called Apple video player. I didn't find the resolution so hot. I picked up a formac card cheap and use that. but in any case, the Apple card was pretty reliable. I don't know, but there must be some third party stuff out there. I haven't had a chance to try Hack TV with it.
My card came with a 233 Rev 1 G3, so if there was an updated version of the card, I don't know anything about it.
Just make sure that when you use it you turn off virtual memory, all network and appletalk, turn off most preferences, turn down colors to thousands. It helps to have a big fast HD. There are some other tips on apple's site.
