Anand, Does your keyboard have standard MIDI I/O ports, or just the serial port? If both, there is usually a location (somewhere in "Global" or "Main" settings) to choose which you want (the serial I/O is called the PCIF Format, first used by Korg, iirc). If you only have the serial port, then it is proprietary, I believe, and the software is most likely using a dedicated driver. If AppleTalk is on for your DSL, then this should have little bearing on the issue, though I presume you have selected "ethernet" in your AppleTalk settings. By the way, after zapping the PRAM, the OS default of "PrinterPort" will be selected as your AppleTalk choice, so go back in and reselect ethernet. Palm does not need AppleTalk, but if you've trashed its preferences for some reason (I speak of the Palm Desktop syncing software; I presume you are also), then make sure your conduit settings indicate "serial -> modem" and not printer. As for the three serial utilities you mentioned, I did find the "Meilenstein CommCloser Pro" v. 1.0 via VersionTracker. Do a search under "Mac OS" (not X) w/keyword "serial" and you'll find it. If you have trouble finding it, let me know, and I'll upload a copy for you offlist. Keep us informed, please. Best regards, Dana -- G-List is sponsored by <http://lowendmac.com/> and...
