I have a beige MT 300MHz, 128MB RAM, 20GB hd, running Jaguar. It has been fun and dependable. Lately however, I've been having real slow downs on MSWord (especially when I'm formatting tables) and tonight, in the middle of a table that was acting especially sluggish, my monitor just went black, as though the machine had put itself to sleep. The power lights for both the monitor and the computer were on but nothing would come up. I pushed the green button on the front of the CPU and the computer turned off. I restarted it and it took a long time to go through its spinning before it rendered the finder. Then after that, MSWord kept quitting on me (again working on the dastardly table).

Is my machine trying to tell me something? Should I be worried? Is the strange monitor cut off a result of my having run the 10.2.8 update tonight? The table slowness has been going on for a while though.

Any thoughts or suggestions would help me put my mind to rest.
