The serial connection is for LocalTalk. LaserWriter 300 is a direct serial printer. You need to use the LaserWriter 8 driver for the Pro 630.Thanks Clark. The printer printed off the Laserwriter 8 driver, via the serial connection. The page is smudgy looking and has a repeated blurstripesmuge about an inch and a quarter wide 7 and 1/2 times down the page. Are the little people inside lazy, or is something dirty, or is something broken? I hope I didn't overwhelm you with my technical jargon. The printer has a name, and I don't know how to get to the thinking bits to either re-name it or just to look around.
It may need a new toner cartridge. It could need a new fuser assembly. Or it may have something else wrong.
