Get Pacifist. That allows you to get whatever specific files you want from the installer packages.

Hah- combination of 2 things- the 5.2.1 is what adds compatibility with
10.2 (I think, per the readme) and replacing the kext with the one from
10.1 did the trick. It's up! It's burning! thanks very much for the help
and to those who helped with the point update I needed.


I guess the moral is still the same as in OS 9; it's sometimes good to keep
a spare system folder around.


And it's still not quite midnight...
