I ran into the same problem. I found longer cables, but then I never could get it to see both drives consistently. (I read somewhere that you can't go longer than about 18"???) I finally just got a bigger drive and went with just the one.

Hi, I would like to add a 2nd hdd to my Beige G3 and discovered that the standard IDE cables with 2 connections are too short to reach from bottom hdd to top cradle. Does anyone know what size I need? AND where to buy one in the UK? I have had a good look at the XLR8yourMac pages but no one seems to have found this a problem? Just a bit puzzled:=>> am I being a bit dimm maybe...? It just will not reach... (btw I have taken out the corner piece but it's is still to far.) Thanks for your listening ear(s) Gerthe

It may take some looking but most computer dealers should have the longer cables. The compusa stores used to carry two lengths.

also try http://www.cablesamerica.com/product_list.asp?cat%5Fid=602

they have 18 to 36 inch cables
