This makes a lot of sense, but the problem with longer cables seems to be that
the two drive connectors are still pretty close together.  Your impedance
explanation suggests why this may be so.  I'm using 24" now and could go to 36"
for one pair of monitors, but due to the internal layout of the MT, I'd still
have trouble reaching one of the drives.
