This whole master slave thing has gotten way out of hand.  You should 
not cable select a Mac.  Just simply set one ide device to slave an the 
other to master (on the same cable). That ALL there is to it.  All this 
cable and color and phase of the moon stuff is useless information.  If 
you need the jumper settings go to the website and download them.  
Sometimes the jumper settings are on the drive but not always.  This is 
really a simple process and should not be confused.
