That ain't necessarily so, PCI Extreme will enable QE on 8MB Radeon Mobility chipsets in G4 Powerbooks. I can't see as what use it'd be because QE needs stacks of RAM.
I would recommend turning it off (is that possible on supported machines?) before playing games though, I used to get about a 20% framerate drop in QIII Arena if it was running as it uses OpenGL at the same time as the game, which gets messy...
