Greedy for USB(y)

My stock G5 comes with two USB on back; one on front. Not surprisingly, 
I need more for my externals. I seem to have enough firewire access for 
now. Do you fine folk recommend a PCI card (about 50-70 bucks will get 
me either 3 USB or 2 USB and 2 firewire), or is there a recommended PCI 
card with only USB for less, or should one go with a powered USB hub 
(and if so, powered or non-powered)? That is the question.
