I installed a G4-500 from fastmac.com about a year ago in my B&W. The damn things works so good I can't justify purchasing a new MDD dual 1.25 GHz.
The speed ALTI-VEC engine gives my music CD and DVD ripping gives it too much of an advantage over a G3-900. If you don't use ALTI-VEC enhanced applications then go for the G3-900. Your in the same boat as me... Time to put the B&W on E-Bay and pick up a G5 or a MDD dual 1.25 GHz. Just my 2 cents.
