Neil writes,

<Well, I would have thought that with only Toast and the OS in use, even
96MB of RAM would be enough. I have an OS 8.6 partition with Toast 5 Lite
on it, but I can only get down to 256MB RAM so I can't really test this
theory.

The "Finishing..." stage can take a while, but you should be able to work
during that - I see from your other post that it locks up completely.>

Yeah, it does, and it doesn't give any indication on what sort of
progress it's making, if any, through this stage. Neither do the "Waiting
for the Writer..." and "Preparing..." stages prior to the attempted burn
either. That is rather irritating, IMO. When it went through the burning
phase, it was very easy to see where it was at and how long it would
take.  ::::sigh::::

<>The drive reported an error:
>Sense Key = MEDIUM ERROR
>Sense Code = 0x02
>NO SEEK COMPLETE

I decided to "google" this error, and it seems to be a standard CD
burning and/or SCSI error, not specific to Toast. In fact, I ended up on
the Nero site and they suggest causes ranging from bad CDs to dirty CD
lenses and driver errors (it's a PC application). What brand CD-R/CD-RWs
are you using - have you tried different types?>

Thanks for this info. The CDs and CD-RWs I have are all Staples. Nope,
haven't tried different any different brands. However, I did get an email
from another lister who was asking me Qs about the SCSI connection
between the G3 and the CDRW unit; she might think I'm having a SCSI
problem....I don't think I was able to provide her with enough info (I'm
not knowledgeable about the insides of my computers), but we'll see.

<Other than that, I'm running out of suggestions already :-(>

That's OK. I appreciate your thoughtful attempts and your google research
did provide some insight.
