Yes, the important stuff on "that" HD is now backed up on the other two, 
so if it disappears again it won't be so traumatic.  The problem is that 
this HD is the biggest and that's the one I was hoping to make the 
primary....

Oh well. There's still more "experiments" in reorganization and backing 
up I can and should be doing. Thanks for the warning about what happened 
to yours, keep me posted when your friend finds out what's going on and 
I'm glad for you he was able to back up your data.
