I am a windows user considering a switch to mac. have been offered a powermac g4/400 and a monitor for a good price( good in india expensive in us) I have only the model nos. How do i veify the specs etc the model nos are M5183 for the G4 and M6496 for the monitor.

Apple also maintains a database of legacy product specs, but it's not as pretty as Everymac's.
Ignore the current pricing info in Everymac. It's not very representative of the market. For pricing, I recommend searching eBay's completed auctions or looking at the ads in the Low End Mac's Swap mailing list.
