Similar new prices here in New Zealand. Used is not so bad, a G3/300

$27US to ship a computer here from Los Angeles). No duty, but a 12.5%
tax on price paid, insurance (if any) and shipping cost... unless it
comes by mail, in which case there's no tax but shipping is too high.

Andrew,

I'm just curious. What is a "tame shipper"? I just wanted to know in the event that something needs to be sent Down Under.

Wealll, mate, the woild shippah is a dangerous and crafty creature, as likely to snap your 'ead off as to send you your computah'.

Many generations of careful breedin' by dedicated shipping ranchers 'ave produced a well-behaived, reloiable, tame shippah', who can be trusted when your back is turned...</SI>

(Oh, come ON, you expect me to walk past a straight line like that?! ;-)

I suspect he means one who won't charge extortionate rates and 'handling charges', and ensures it's properly labelled and shipped for duty-free status.
