I've also noticed, in watching those crime shows on cable, that no small number of these forensics labs doing DNA testing, clearly show G5s sitting on desks in the background.

TV programs with business offices usually seem to have Macs on the desks, with the Apple symbol clearly visible. This includes NZ programs.

Yep, those Hollywood and TV production types love their Macs ... and they love to show them off in their programs as props. Nothing wrong with that. I have a television production background and many people I know are Mac users. Stems from the whole graphics and editing specialization that Macs have always had. (Yeah, yeah, there are PC options. Go ahead Larry le PC or anyone else, ... tell me all about it).

It's just a prop though and actual real-life usage of any one type of computer or another within a given television program/film setting should not be inferred.
