exactly! it's sad how many people think that tv has connection to reality, even
"reality
tv" is entirely fake and scripted. technical advisors are constantly ignored, and huge
errors are made that any high schooler could spot (my favorite was on "stargate", when
the
brilliant scientist character of amanda carter said that pie was the ratio of a circles
RADIUS to it circumferance. any one who passed math should know it's the ratio of the
circumferance to the DIAMETER of a circle, an error of a factor of 2, fairly huge for
such
a basic and key concept in most of the sciences (if your income chaned in either
direction
by a factor of 2, i think you'd notice!).

similiarly, "CSI" has nothing to do with real forensics, and none of the crime shows
have
anything to do with reality either! that's one reason why i don't watch them, i avoid
putting garbage into my brain as any brain filled with garbage is likely to pour it out
latter, or at the very least to let this fiction distort thier perception. Watching
CSI
does not "make everyone an expert" on forensics, it makes people experts on the fantasy
version presented which is far more exciting, easy, and precise than real life where
there
are all kinds of real problems every day, including scarce resources which largely
contribute to the difficulty of solving even major crimes. similarly, "start trek",
while
i greatly enjoy watching it, tells one very little about space travel, engineering,
etc.,
if you don't keep that in mind and believe it's some kind of science class you will
still
be ignorant, worse yet you'll have wrong information that you incorrectly believe to be
relavant to reality.

after all, if tv were an accurate portrayal of reality, we'd all be young and
attractive.
look around you, the tv world is a lot "prettier", at least by many standards.

on the other hand, Burt Rattan uses a G4, i believe it's the same model i usually get
to
use! for those who don't know, he, his company, and many of his highly skilled
employees
just won the x-prize for building a craft capable of lifting 3 people into space twice
in
two weeks! a real accomplishment, and along the way he proved and derived some very
clever techniques that will have a huge impact on space flight and even aircraft
design,
which he has a long history of contributing to (for some 30 years he has designed,
built,
and flown at least one completely new aircraft design every year! truly an incredible
guy).

reality folks, you just aren't going to get it on the networks, particularly not in
"fiction".

The FBI could easily have prevented 9/11, if they had wanted to. Agents have
repeatedly been
thrawted by their supervisors while pursueing promising investigations, several of
which
would have
prevented 9/11, but maybe that was the point. Evidence from respected news agencies
and
conservative publications. <http://counterpunch.org/sacks06262004.html>
