Yes, it is an Adaptec SCSI-2 card. I thought all macs had the SCSI plug on board, is anything newer than this Blue/White G3 lacking the SCSI onboard? (I mean G3 and G4 towers).

I believe the biege was the last to get builtin SCSI.

About the 256M RAM, my 333 Beige has exactly that running 10.2.8 and Classic, and it suits me fine, can run a big number of programs and I can't say the computer demands more RAM. I've had at least 7 applications running at the same time (including memory hog Limewire) and she seems to do just fine. However will the Blue/White model require an upgrade of RAM for any special reasons?

There was a major speed increase for me in going from 256 to 768MB for OS X. You can pick up 256MB DIMMS from OWC for $25 or so. Well worth it. Not a special B&W thing, just a general rule for OS X.
