Does this card work in a Beige G3 with a G4 Upgrade card? This would let me run Panther without the 8GB limitation. I had ordered the SIIG ATA Card from OWC but was told later by OWC that this card is no longer compatible with the G3. Since Acard makes the SIIG card I wonder if this would also hold true.

Thanks
Dennis

The AEC-6280M that you bought supports standard ATA IDE hard drives (Parallel ATA) which use a standard 80conductor/40pin ribbon cable.

The AEC6290M is a SATA hard drive controller, which uses a Serial ATA interface, and uses a 7pin or 15pin cable completely different from a standard IDE drive.

So, if you are using standard ATA IDE drives, you chose the right controller.
