For the first time in a long time, I am using Mac OS 9. I'm using a G3-233 which is equivallent to the Mac I used when I previously used Mac OS 9 as my main OS, then an 8600 upgraded to 400MHz G3 (Formac card), and I think OS 9 is.... SHIT!!
I can safely say that I am 100% OS X.
On my new machines, I am too. I still run System 6 & 7 for grins, on my older systems (Plus, SE, SE/30, for three examples). Actually now that I think of it I realise I do have one newer machine that runs OS 9, but that's because it is a Beige G3 running LocalTalk bridge between my LocalTalk network and my ethernet network and a version of Timbuktu old enough to talk to the version of Timbuktu on my oldest hardware. That version of Timbuktu is OS 9 only... But I don't actively USE that system except as a bridge to my LocalTalk network.
I hate Windows (more than some of you will ever imagine), but I now realise that I actually dislike OS 9 too.
Oh, I can imagine. I made a deal with myself when I graduated college to never work at a place that required me to run Windows. So far (over a decade later), I have held to that. First i worked at an ISP where I ran Mac OS something-or-other and SunOS, then NetWare 4, then Solaris & Linux, then Solaris, and now OS X. Yes, my work machine is a PowerBook 15" that I cart to & from work every day. FUN!
