Well Chuck what's really cool is listening to audio books on it. I just
tried it today with a computer-read book I got for free on the web
(Darwin's Autobiography) to see if I would like it. Well I sure did
although the computer voice left much to be desired. There are audio
books on CD at the library and ripping them to iTunes has been
explained to me, so I do believe I will be doing that next.
You can also use it as an external firewire drive too. I think you can
even boot from it.
But i really like the idea of listening to books while I drive to work,
the store, on the plane, etc. Being a book lover, I never have enough
time to read as much as I would like.

No! Actually I am aware of Ipod use as an 'audio crutch' for those who
need constant aural stimulation. But not being in that category myself,
I've never looked into them to see if they (the Ipod) might have other
uses.
