Initialize is not really an option with a CD (or DVD) as they are
removable media.
In most cases, you do not want to Initialize because in most cases your
intent is NOT to ERASE your disc and start over. In some cases, perhaps
it is. But be very careful not to lose irreplaceable data.
Your computer is not recognizing the disc formatting on this CD.
"Picture CD" format is an odd one, and not one I have experience with.
Perhaps the provider of the CD can offer some assistance.
Do you have Toast or Dragon Burn? Try mounting the disc while one of
those apps is active.
Dragon Burn offers a free trial of its software available for download
at MacUpdate or VersionTracker.com.
