Well, we're getting ahead of ourselves here. I'm still convinced I can salvage my current installation. Everything is there-- it's just getting the computer to boot into the friggin' thing. And FWIW, I know this particular computer won't have a problem with the 10.2.8 bundle since I've done it that way twice before after clean installs of 10.2.
