The drive is going, "click... click click... click... click
click..." whenever I try anything now.
My Mini is still under the one year warantee so I figured I'd call
that in, but I want to try to retrieve my personal data before I do.
I did a little research last night (before my brain crashed early
this morning actually) and it looks like I can boot from an
external Firewire drive. Is this correct? If so, can anyone
recommend and external USB & Firewire enclosure that works well
with a Mini? (I'm looking for one that has both USB and Firewire
connectivity so that I can use it with our other machines.)
Are there any other suggestions on what I can do?
the click click click is a bad sign; you have to get the drive
spinning up to be able to get data off!
Get your other drive booting( if you can, I don't know about that
part on the mini), then just keep trying, boot over and over, do not
give up- sometimes you can get one more spinup from the bad drive and
you had darn well better be ready to get your data off of it Right
Then as you may not get a second chance.
Luck!
