Dear List:

A friend of mine is using Rogers as her ISP. She is also using a webhosting
service for her web site. We have set up
an email account using her domain name, but we have been unable to configure it
correctly so that it works through
her Entourage email program. It simply will not send or receive emails.

I have successfully set up her account at my home, but I changed the SMTP
server address to the one I use through
my ISP. I was able to send and receive email without a problem. I also set up
this same account at my workplace.
Again, I changed the SMTP server address to the one at work. Again, this
account worked successfully.

Has anyone encountered similar issues trying to access emails from a webhosting
service and have them directed to
their home-based email program through their main provider? Is some special
configuration necessary? Is some sort
of authenication necessary?

Roland :)

P.S. In addition, her Powerbook is connected wirelessly to an Airport Extreme
basestation. Could the basestation be
an issue?
