I have a G4/525 that started life as a Beige G3/266. Because of this, I can't load more than 10.2.8 without XPostFacto. I am wondering: is 10.3.x or 10.4.x any faster than 10.2.8? Would it be worth my time to upgrade or should I stick with 10.2.8? I am perfectly happy with the stability and feature set in 10.2.8, but I'm always looking for more speed despite the fact that 10.2.8 cruises along fine on the G4. 9.2.2 is still faster though. What would you folks recommend? Panther or Tiger? Or stick with Jaguar? If the speed of either of the newer versions is significantly better, I would consider spending the money to upgrade. But I have heard XpostFacto can be more trouble than it's worth. Here's my setup: PowerPC G4/525 (started life as Beige G3/266) Desktop Radeon 7000 32MB video card 60 gigabyte hard drive & 4 gigabyte hard drive PCI USB card Pioneer DVR-110 DVD-R/CD-R burner Thanks, Nat -- G-List is sponsored by <http://lowendmac.com/> and...
