I've been doing some research today. Yes, Linux requires something called
BootX for Old World Macs (like my G3 Beige), and as to Ubuntu, I found
installation instructions (for G3), so I requested one of the free CDs.

Yeah it had been awhile since I messed with Linux on a beige, my experience with YDL was okay, but I really think Ubuntu is the better way to go right now. BTW, I have broadband here if you need someone to make you a copy of YDL or Ubuntu. I have both Hoary and Breezy stable versions for the PC, but I have not downloaded the Mac version yet. I have YDL 3.0.1 on my iMac slotloader upstairs, but I have not played with it much since the weather turned colder. I really need to bring it down to my room, I miss it!
