Not to confuse the issue, or to add bananas or pears to the comparison
of Apples and oranges (Photoshop vs Graphic Converter), but have you
any experience with the new Photoshop Elements and it's usefulness. I
am an owner of Photoshop versions 3 thru 6, which I used with MacOS 9
and earlier, but haven't so far thought the upgrade to ver. 7, CS or
CS2, looked worth the money to be able to use PS in Panther or Tiger.
I have just been keeping an old G3 to use for PS and Illustrator, and
a few other programs, which I am too cheap to upgrade on, so far. I
have heard that PS Elements does about as much PS as most
non-professionals can do anyway. Have you had any experience with PS
Elements?

I consider GC a replacement for PS. But I can fire up GC, crop a jpeg,
and save it in the time it takes PS to lumber to a start.
But, then, if you're living in an apartment where you need to cut a
bookshelf or picture frame once in a while, I wouldn't recommend using
a table saw, either. PS is an anti-mosquito howitzer for most people.
I use both regularly, wouldn't trade one for the other.
