I hope you are right, the x86 is a very old and poor architecture. Its roots are in the 8008 and 8080 CPUs of the 70's. yes, unix is also old, but it is well done and scalable
In regard to intel macs in two three years time we'll all have one, if we still will be using macs. Cheers Andrea
Not necesarily, if they don't break. You will not type faster with a faster computer. I replaced my Quadra 650 in 1999 with a 7600/200. A friend has the 650 now, with an added PPC CPU board. My G3 B/W with a 450 MHz G4 and a Radeon 7000 works great. My wife will get it, as soon as I can buy a newer one. If you have a dual processor G4, you could be still using it in five years. Think about a G5 MP!!
