Well, there are ethernet hubs to be bought real cheap on ebay. There are converters which convert ethernet to the "old" AppleTalk connectors, cheap
on ebay, too.

That way you simply connect your Macs and the printer to the ethernet hub and you oughta be able to print to your printer from both Macs without a
hassle...

Had that configuration for a long time with a Color StyleWriter 4500 before
buying a LaserWriter Pro 630 which has a proper ethernet connector.

I don't want to buy anything unless I have to on this one. My laser printer is the Apple Personal Laserwriter 4/600 and has no ethernet connection. And I don't fully trust that one 'simply' does anything anymore! Not me anyway!
